DTA: Department of Transitional Assistance

  • The Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) assists and empowers low-income individuals and families to meet their basic needs, improve their quality of life, and achieve long term economic self-sufficiency. DTA serves one in six residents of the Commonwealth with direct economic assistance (cash benefits) and food assistance (SNAP benefits), as well as workforce training opportunities.  
  • DTA Assistance Line (877) 382-2363  The DTA Assistance Line is open from 8:15 A.M. to 4:45 P.M.

  • Supporting the LFM’s robust food assistance programs, including a $15 SNAP match for those accessing SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program).
  • Joining a community-wide effort to build a strong local food economy and a robust farmers’ market

Note that for donations of $500 or more, there is the potential for a tax deductible contribution.
