They provide the LFM with a compost bin and weekly pickup to support and further our commitment to sustainability.
Food Link
Food Link is an Arlington-based organization working to create a more equitable food system through Greater Boston by rescuing and distributing high-quality food to under-resourced communities. In 2022, Food Link rescued 1.2 million pounds of food that would otherwise go to waste, serving over 68,000 people throughout 47 communities in Greater Boston. For more information on Food Link and their programs, visit foodlinkma.org.
At the end of the Tuesday market day, Food Link volunteers pick up multiple boxes and bags of donated farm produce, bread and more, with the onsite effort coordinated by LFM staff. The LFM’s work in support of food rescue and food equity in our community is an important part of our mission, and we are grateful to the generous LFM farmers and vendors who are donating to this effort.
